Contest #211 answer: Apple HQ, Cupertino CA, USA

This was an easy but sad start for this series.
As a long-time Apple user (I bought my first Appe II in 1981 and never changed brand) I couldn’t ignore the passing away of Steve Jobs this week.

The contest is zoomed in on the main entrance of the Apple HQ building at #1 Infinite Loop in Cupertino.

Contest #210 answer: Saint-Laurent du Maroni, French Guiana

In French Guiana, at the borders of the Marowi (Marowijne) river, lies the village of Saint-Laurent du Maroni, a.k.a ‘Le Petit Paris’. In the centre of the picture you’ll see the ‘Camp de la Transportation’, which was one of the locations where Henri Charrière, ‘Le Papillon’ (Butterfly in French), was held in custody.

His story became famous in 1973 with the making of the movie with the same name, starring Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman.

Contest #209 answer: Bodega Bay, California, USA

In 1963 Alfred Hitchcock made his movie ‘The Birds’. He chose the Bodega Bay in California as his main location. Although most of the shooting was done in a mockup in the English studios, the Tides Wharf & Restaurant was the place where Tippi Hedren found her shelter when the Birds attacked.
