Contest #469: Segoothooth Butte in the middle of nowhere, northwest British Columbia, Canada

Contest #469 was an attempt to break up the logjam on top and it seems to have allowed one player, Phil Ower, to take a one point lead going into the final contest.

It was chosen when I came across the Google Earth artifact that at some zoom levels has a greyed out spot over what looks like a pool of neon green. As far as I can tell, there is no secret toxic dump, neon green mine or the like at this location.

If anyone can tell me why this artifact appears, I would greatly appreciate it.

Panoramio has no pictures from near this spot, but I did find this account of a trek from Telegraph Creek to Atlin: http://riverswithoutborders.org/blog/2014/06/a-long-walk-in-the-taku

Only one player found the location without the hint:

  • Phil Ower

While a few were aided by Nellie Cashman:

  • Eloy Cano
  • Ben S
  • George, Esq.
  • Glenmorren
