Commonly referred to as Punta del Faro, but also known as the ancient Pelorus, This promontory of Sicily is the closest point to the Mainland of Italy at the Strait of Messina. Visible in the Image is one of the protected historical monuments, Pylons of Messina. Also visable is a small Lake (lago Torre Faro) with Canals that connect to the Sea, and to Lago Ganzirri. These lakes are known for the best eels and cockles in Sicily. Did most people find this one difficult?
