Part of what threw me off was that I was convinced at first that it had to be Mesoamerican, so I kept looking in the Yucatan. It didn’t occur to me for a while to look in the Pacific.

Pfff, it was hard this time, but it is the Pohnpei island, one of the largest islands in Micronesia. And to be more specific: the Nan Madol ruins.
I only figured this out through some strokes of luck at Googling. It is a ruined city called Nan Madol on the island of Pohnpei in Micronesia:
