Contest #154 aswer: Mount Sinabung, Indonesia
Mount Sinabung is a volcano on the Indonesian Island of Sumatra. Its lasts known eruption before the current one dates from 1600. On August 29, it came to live again, causing the evacuation of 30,000 residents.
On September 3 there was another eruption, just after some of the evacuees returned to their homes and subsequently on September 7 another -more severe- one.
Vulcanologists are warning for more heavy eruptions in the next weeks and Mount Sinabung still has a ‘code red‘ alert on the Indonesian volcano watch page.

Contest #153 answer: Sukkur, Pakistan
The city of Sukkur was developed in the 12th century, at the island of Bukkhr which lies in the smallest part of the River Indus.
Because of this bottleneck, the area just above Sukkur is very vulnerable to flooding, as can be seen here in a recent (August 18) NASA picture.
We can hardly imagine the scale of this disaster, it is estimated that it affects more than 20 million people.
