    After cruising Kashmir, Ladhak, and Tibet looking for significant monasteries, I realized the walled compounds in the photo must be from an Islamic country, suggesting Pakistan or Afghanistan – so following up on last week’s Giant Buddha theme led me quickly to Bamiyan!
