Contest #191 answer: Rikers Island Prison, New York, USA

It was shortly in the news last week as the temporary home of IMF boss Strauss-Kahn: this is New York City’s main jail complex on Rikers Island, near LaGuardia Airport.

It houses 14,000 inmates on average over 10 detention facilities.

Contest #190 answer: Flight BU771 crash, Tripoli Intl. Airport, Libya

On May 12th 2010, Afriqiyah Airways flight 771 crashed on the approach of runway 09 of Qaser Ben Ghashir International Airport at Tripoli, Libya.
The satellite picture was taken the day after, on May 13th.

There was only one survivor: a 9 year old Dutch boy. All other 103 passengers and crew were killed by the accident.

Contest #189 answer: Nuclear waste repository, Olkiluoto, Finland

Finland is currently building a nuclear waste repository, near the site of the nuclear power plant of Olkiluoto (seen at the west of the pin in the ‘hint’ picture)

This site is called Onkalo (‘hidden’ in Finnish) and is an underground storage facility which should last at least 100,000 years.
Construction is planned to run trough the year 2110 and there is a film made of the construction, called ‘Into Eternity’.

It was not easy this week (probably the hardest contest ever), no one found it without the hint.
