Contest #359 answer: Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu, New Zealand
If there was some weird contest who has the longest place name on earth, this one had won hands down. It is longer than the places of contest #217 and contest #249 and -according to Wikipedia- it means ‘The summit where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, the climber of mountains, the land-swallower who travelled about, played his nose flute to his loved one’.
There are some longer versions around, but this one seems to be the official one.

Contest #358 answer: Pilgrim Hall Museum, Plymouth, MA
First of all: thanks to all who pointed out that I need a new pair of reading glasses. 🙂
You were correct: I was a bit off this week. Across the street to be precise. Mea culpa.
But the answer was ment to be the Pilgrim Hall Museum (of course), the oldest public museum in the United States.
It is open to the public since 1824 and contains lots of memorabilia and archives from the Pilgrim Fathers.
