Contest #76 Answer:Inga Falls, Democratic Republic of the Congo

Deep in the heart of Africa runs the Congo River, and one of the largest water falls in the World.  The Inga Falls drops some 300 plus feet in about 15 km, as it makes it’s way to the Atlantic Ocean.  The flow is roughly between 1.5 – 2.5 million ft/sec.  Also visible in the image is the Inga Dams, plans are underway to expand the hydro electric capacity with two new dams, called Inga III and Grand Inga.  This ambitious $80 billion  plan is designed to help the African continent deal it’s growing electrical needs.  Remember to check your Answers with the new Google Earth 5.0 (beta).
