The Borgund Stave Church is a solid example of the Norwegian stave church tradition. Stave churches we build between about 900AD and 1600AD, and are distinguished by the construction style, post and lintel with vertical frames called “Stav” in Norwegion.

Borgund Stave Church was built around 1180 and is dedicated to the Apostle Andrew.
