Contest #909: the Muttart Conservatory in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

This week’s location was submitted by Andrew, one of the folks who keeps the game running behind the scenes. It is the Muttart Conservatory, located in downtown Edmonton, Alberta in Canada. It’s one of the best-known landmarks of Edmonton, the Muttart Conservatory consists of three city-operated greenhouses, public gardens, as well as four feature pyramids for display of plant species found across three biomes (Temperate, Arid and Tropical), with the fourth pyramid hosting a seasonal display. It was built in 1976, so is approaching its 50th anniversary next year.

The hint referred to one of the more famous plants in the conservatory – an Amorphophallus titanium or Corpse flower that flowers irregularly, It last bloomed in April 2017!
