I (one of your humble game maker guys) grew up here in Oklahoma City. I moved back home in 2009 and have watched this building go up as it is on my way to work. The work was stalled for several years as the state and the city battled back-and-forth in terms of who was going to manage and pay for the project. Eventually a coalition of the city and some of the state’s more affluent and civic minded tribes stepped up and took it over, creating this amazing site.
The museum is quite fascinating and I heartily recommend a visit if you ever find yourself with a few spare hours in my surprisingly beautiful and interesting city. Take enough time to spend a few moments in the restaurant trying the creatively and professionally prepared traditional dishes.
