Contest #899 – Midsundtrappene – Rørsethornet, Otrøya, Norway

Sherpa Steps are natural stone stairways built in relatively steep terrain. Nepalese sherpas have been contracted by local and regional governments in Norway since 2005 because of their work ethic and thier understanding and consideration of nature.

The Midsund Stairway system consists of 4 such paths, with the climb up Rørsethornet being the longest and highest.

Among those who found the site after the hint, we have Lighthouse, who gave us this little bit of context:

“I have just found a photo that I took on my last trip to Norway. It shows our ship in Molde, with the island of Otrøya in the background, where the Sherpa Staircase is located.”
