Contest #82: Isle of Barra, Outer Hebrides, Scotland

Contest #82 again comes from Gaelic Scotland, perhaps something close to Ewen’s Heart?  This image comes from a group of islands off the western coast of Scotland, known as the Outer Hebrides.    What makes this place unique?  for starters, getting there is half the fun, and this would make for one of the most unique landing experiences anywhere in the world.  The Barra Airport is only open during low tide, regularly served by non other than British Airways.

I am very impressed that so many folks found it… hopefully the Hint wasn’t too much.

Contest #81: Fort George, Ardersier Scotland

Where the River Ness enters the Moray Firth and dumps into the North Sea, is the Well preserved Fort George of Ardersier, Scotland and the 81st contest answer.   Built over 240 years ago, this garrison is still active today as home of the Royal Irish Regiment and the Royal Regiment of Scotland.  The Nearby city of Inverness was named by the Telegraph.co.uk as the fastest growing city in Europe in February, 2008.
