Contest #65 Answer

This was a pretty easy one. The answer is the worlds largest compass rose in Edwards Air Force Base, California. In addition to being a test flight center, Edwards is also an alternate landing site for the Space Shuttle. If you notice, north on the ground compass doesn’t align with north on Google Earth. That is due to the magnetic declination of the location.

Contest #64 Answer – Guérande, France

Sorry for the delay in getting up the answer for contest #64. I had problems with my laptop in Saigon and I’ve been trying to get everything back to normal. I’ve also been slogging through all the photos I took in Cambodia, which are now finally up on my travel photography site.

Without any further delay, the answer to this contest are the salt pools of Guérande, France. They are large ponds where sea water is allowed to evaporate leaving sea salt.
